Faculty members from Balıkesir University visited Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan (20.04.2026).

Within the scope of the International Academic Cooperation Protocol signed between Balıkesir University and Osh State University, a comprehensive visit program was carried out between 20–26 April 2026 with the aim of strengthening academic relations. As part of the program, faculty members from Balıkesir University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemali Buzlukçu, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sultan Nazmiye Kılıç, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Selin İlsay, visited Osh State University.

During the visit, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of tourism education, scientific research, and interinstitutional collaboration were discussed. In particular, exchanges of ideas were conducted regarding the development of joint projects, the enhancement of student and academic staff exchange programs, and the promotion of interdisciplinary studies. Furthermore, opportunities aimed at strengthening the cultural and social dimensions of academic cooperation were also evaluated.

Within the framework of the program, informative presentations were delivered by our academicians to the students of the Faculty of Tourism at Osh State University. Comprehensive information was shared regarding the academic structure of Balıkesir University, the Faculty of Tourism, educational opportunities offered to international students, as well as the gastronomic richness of Balıkesir and its elements of intangible cultural heritage. It was observed that the students showed considerable interest in the presentations and followed the sessions attentively.

As part of the same visit, participation was also provided in the World Cultures Festival organized by Osh State University. Through this event, where different cultures were introduced, contributions were made to intercultural interaction and promotional activities.

This visit significantly contributed to the development of sustainable and multidimensional cooperation between the two universities.
